What is Reformer Pilates?
Reformer Pilates is an exercise method that involves slow and precise movements with an increased emphasis on breathing, positioning and sequencing. Every class is a full body workout done with intention and control, and it improves posture, strength, flexibility, coordination and body awareness.
A Reformer Pilates class is both gentle and challenging, and it connects body and mind bringing many physical and mental benefits.
On a Reformer class we have extra challenges with the springs (adding resistance) and the moving carriage (defying your balance), but we will always stay true to the Pilates Principles, which are:.
Most classes incorporate a ballet barre and use classic dance moves such as plies, alongside static stretches. Barre also focuses on high reps of small range movements.
